Members and friends of Bethel Bible Church:

You will no doubt be aware of the latest set of restrictions that were brought in on Friday of last week, but which applied to places of worship as of Midnight Sunday evening. This allowed us to meet last Sunday [April 18] at 15% capacity and we did have some 30 people as part of our 'in-person' congregation. However, the restriction for the next 4 weeks is only for 10 people 'in-person', which meant that with staff and praise team there could only be 3 or a maximum of 4 worshippers in the congregation [unlike the last 10-person limit which did not include the staff and worship team]. Thus, since the idea behind this latest set of rules is to keep interactions among the population to a minimum to prevent the spread of Covid-19, we have made the decision to go completely virtual for these next 4 Sundays.

Thus the church facility will NOT be open on Sunday morning - please note this so you are not arriving at a building that you cannot enter. The praise team and I will actually pre-record the service for this Sunday later this week, and it will be posted on the church Facebook page and on the church website at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. You will be able to participate with us from that point on. Our hope is that this will only last for these 4 weeks [April 25, May 2, 9, 16]. I will send out the sermon outline on Saturday along with the link to the church website section on sermons so that you should be able to access the service easily on Sunday.

As well, as we enter this new season I believe that it is important not to have our focus on an invisible virus nor to be paralyzed by fear which is compounded by the daily compounding of television and social media - but rather, because we are people of faith, who believe in the Sovereign God of the Scriptures and His leadership and protection, that we would spend the next weeks focusing on Him - that we might remind ourselves of what He has revealed to us of His nature so that we can actively trust in Him and His grace and mercy to us even in these days. Thus below you will find the adapted preaching [and zoom study] schedule from April 25th through to the end of June.

May we indeed not grow weary in well-doing, and even though we cannot meet 'in-person' for the next 4 Sundays, let us grow together as we study and worship our gracious God.

Sincerely,

Pastor Laurie
